Seriously, I had this idea for a third blog kicking around ever since I posted the Synthesis stuff over on AudiOddities. It will, I am sure, make Lee pull out his hair and drive Lady Domi nuts to have to go to three blogs to get a musical fix, but what the hey, if one has a HUGE collection (well over 20,000 LPs alone), it is good to share, especially when a lot of this stuff is well out of print.
Speaking of out of print, I've got some Andre Kostelanetz (otherwise known by me as 'Andre the K') for you! These are on an early Columbia stereo (before they had the 'Six-Eye' logo) LP, which was part of a 6-LP set that, I think, was given out to the buyer when they purchased a Columbia stereophonic phonograph. Actually, there were TWO 6-LP sets, one was 'popular' and one was classical. Both of them I got at a thrift store for 2 bucks each, and both are in fantastic condition.
Here I have for you some of Andre the K's interpretations of two theater musicals, or at least a suite of the musical numbers. The first, Cole Porter's "Anything Goes", features the following tunes:

Nice stuff this, and some very nice stereo recording, too.
The second suite is from "Music in the Air", by Jerome Kern. The tune list here is:

A little more orchestral, but still pretty darn nice stuff.
I'll post more occasionally, since LP stuff takes longer to encode and the files are bigger. But, I think they're worth it, and I hope you do too. Enjoy!

I don't know about Lee -- but I'm nuts already. Having 53 blogs to visit every morning instead of 52 makes no big difference anyway.

Well, at least you have some interesting music to listen to after it is all done :)
...and I'm glad that you do check in & see what's new... this is a cool way to spread the music, at least I think it is... (unless it is a certain Patti Page & snot-nosed kids 78)

Andre the K sure is grooving! Is he the pianist? The name rings a bell with me, but, well, just one bell. Not the entire glockenspiel...
I like the alto on 'I get a kick' - very mellow in a Johnny Hodges... or Pink Panther fashion. Could it be Jerry Dodgion?

I have no plans to start a third blog! And Andre Kostelanetz? Kosty? You're kidding. Why, Andre is...
...wonderful. He was my introduction to easy listening. I've probably heard 80 percent of everything he did, and you know that's saying something! Great choice for first featured artist. I have this set, plus a set of earlier, pre-stereo stuff in (what else?) fake stereo.
Andre was a child prodigy on the piano, and I believe he played on some of his earlier sides, but probably not that late in the day.
